Version 1.1.4 is a feature release built almost entirely from the feedback portal. The headline is more flexible recurring schedules, along with a semi-monthly frequency, optional auto-decimal entry, accent colors, and a couple of register improvements.
More flexible recurring schedules (Desktop, iOS, Android)
Recurring transactions can now repeat every few periods, not only on the fixed cadences. Use the new “Repeat every” option to set a bill or paycheck to repeat every 2 months, every 3 weeks, and so on. Thanks, Max!
Twice-a-month recurring (Desktop, iOS, Android)
Paychecks and bills that land twice a month are now easy to set up. Choose the new Semi-monthly frequency and pick the two days, such as the 1st and 15th, or the 15th and the last day of the month.
Enter amounts without the decimal point (Desktop, iOS, Android)
Turn on auto-decimal in Settings and the last two digits you type are always the cents, so you can type 1234 to enter 12.34 without reaching for the decimal point. It stays off by default. Thanks, R G!
Choose your accent color (Desktop, iOS, Android)
You can now set the app’s accent color in Settings. Pick from a set of presets and the whole app recolors right away. The classic teal is still the default. Thanks, Gary!
Turn off the running balance (Desktop, iOS, Android)
You can now hide the running balance shown with each transaction. If you post a batch of transactions and clear them as you go, the running balance can be more noise than help, so this gives you a cleaner register. On mobile, turn it off in Settings; on desktop, right-click the register header and uncheck Balance. It stays on by default. Thanks, Barbara!
Easier to clear a transaction (iOS, Android)
The clear marker in the register is larger and easier to tap, so one tap clears a transaction instead of opening it by mistake. The marker also shows in full at every font size. Thanks, Barbara and Gary!
Changes to Checkbook often come from user feedback. If you have ideas of your own or want to weigh in on what should ship next, the portal at feedback.caffeinatedsoftworks.com is the best place to drop them.
