Release notes
Fixed account delete issues (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Deleting an account works properly now, and it stays deleted on your other devices too. Thanks to whoever raised this on the portal, and to Paulene, who wrote in about it too.
Fixed card and loan balances going the wrong way (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Starting Balance now asks for the amount you owe, so payments lower the balance. If an account was set up the wrong way, opening it offers to fix it. Thanks, Aaron!
Added starting balance editing (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Set an account’s starting balance, and the date it applies from, any time after you create it. It shows in the register as an Opening Balance line you can reconcile like any other. Thanks, Kit!
Added a Transfer option (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Transfer is now an option next to Payment and Deposit, with a list of your accounts. Both sides are named after the other account, and the memo appears on both. Thanks, Don, and Kit, who upvoted it.
Added a Loan account type (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Loans show the amount you owe, like a credit card, and aren’t flagged as overdrawn. Thanks, Kit!
Added an option to turn off overdrawn highlighting (Desktop / iOS / Android)
The row shading from 1.1.6 can be switched off in Settings. The balance itself still shows in red either way.
Fixed card balances on desktop (Desktop)
The desktop now shows the amount you owe, the same as your phone. When you reconcile a card or loan, enter the statement balance as a positive number.
Added a New Transaction button (Desktop)
The full transaction form has a button at the top of the register. That button, Filter and Reconcile also have Alt shortcuts on Windows and Linux.
Fixed light mode (Desktop)
The account list, menu bar and status bar now follow the theme you choose. If you use System, it follows your desktop when you change it.
Fixed App Lock (iOS / Android)
App Lock now turns on, and unlocks with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. It was failing on every Android device, and on iPhones with Face ID. Thanks, Lisanka, for writing in.
Fixed menus hidden behind the navigation buttons (Android)
Menus that slide up from the bottom no longer sit under the navigation buttons, where Delete was hard to tap.
Moved Save above the keyboard (Android)
Save now sits just above the keyboard while you type, instead of at the end of the form. Thanks, Jen!
Fixed same-day sort order (Desktop / iOS / Android)
Transactions entered on the same day stay in the order you entered them, and the running balance follows that order. Thanks, Kit! Your example is what found it, and thanks to the App Store reviewer who raised it too.
Changes to Checkbook often come from user feedback. If you have ideas of your own or features you’d like to see, the portal at feedback.caffeinatedsoftworks.com is the best place to drop them.
